Bad Mort

I've just read my sons (devthe deaf) Facebook page and discovered my other son Mort was very naughty at obedience last night. I must go have a little word with him. But really could this face do wrong?

Have ya missed me?

It's been so long since I was allowed on the computer to update my blog. A lot has happened in that time.
1. My babies have all grown up and Dev the Deaf has gone to a wonderful new home. You can catch up on his doings here on Facebook.
2. Mort the menace stayed here with me. I let him get away with everything.
3. My sister Holly has gone away on holly-day. I think it might be permanent as she hasn't bothered to come back. A card would be nice. I did hear though something about a family all of her own. No sharing and lots of walks.
4. I'm getting more attention since Holly went away. This is a good thing and reinforces my Princess status.
and 5. The new leather couch is not longer off limits. Knew it wouldn't last!

Dog show weekend!

Haha, I got to go to a dog show and the others didn't. Just me and my special (that's different to spethial Holly) son Mort. I got to sit around and watch while Mort stormed the ring.

He got best of breed in all three shows but didn't get anything else. Maybe next time.

I wasn't very pleased though when this ugly black labrador charged poor little Mort and bowled him over on Saturday morning. Sue said some very rude words to the owner. I think the owner must be a bit simple because there were signs everywhere to keep your dogs on the lead. And why let an aggressive dog run free? Lucky Aunt Aura wasn't there. That dog would have been mince meat.

Here's me chilling out after the shows.

Me and my babies

This is my bone, my reward for helping with the gardening.  Sue said I was as helpful as my mum and my mum says she's always helpful when there is gardening to be done.
This is the garden that I helped with.  We especially like the green frilly plant.  So does Uncle Chino.  He said it's just at the right height to piddle on.  Bad Uncle!
And here is Dev trying to drink from mum still.  Jolly gosh Dev, you're 10 weeks old.  Far to olf to need mummies teats!  Mum doesn't mind though.  Aunty Aura joined her up as a member of the La Leche League.

Just too cute!

My babies are 1 week old today. They are just the cutest little boys alive. They are tiring though and every now and again I leave them for an hour for a snooze by myself. I'm allowed to do that because they have this heat mat under them which keeps them nice and toastie.

In another week the will be on their feet and chasing me and their eyes will be open. Oh no! How will I get some ME time then?

They now have names too.
Mortal Engines Of Sleek

Infernal Devices Of Sleek

Their names come from the Philip Reeve's "mortal engines" series of books.

I have something to tell...

Look! Mt babies were born by C-section at 2 pm yesterday afternoon. Like my own mum I was too posh to push. I'm a little tired and sore so I'll just leave you with this video.

video

Both are boys. One is a solid brindle with a fetching white line up the centre of his head and a drop of white on his back, and the other is white with a spot of black on one ear. Ziggy is the dad but he's not allowed in here yet.

Now Holly has got off the computer

I can tell my weekend story! OMG we had such fun all weekend, shows, doggy walks, going to the beach and being filmed by TV3! And meeting Ziggy's breeders. Only they pronounce his name Zeeggy.

Anyway, you might be asking yourself why I am standing on this table while a ribbon is held up. I won it! I got intermediate of group at the shows on the weekend!!!!!! Better than Holly and Ziggy did. (Ziggy was too busy trying to impress Nga). We had to take three photos before the stupid human stopped looking at the dog toy I was concentrating on and looked at the camera. I tell you some times its hard. Once the photos are posted on the supashotz website I'll link to them.

Before I had to go back for in show judging on the Sunday we all went to the beach for a walk. Holly's bro Mojo came along as well. Six minis all in one place at one time! That's nearly all that there is in NZ. From left to right: Ch Maris Phallitax of Sleek, MEEE!!!!, Wellywood Lord Of The Ring (Ngarimu), Titan Of Sleek (Mojo), Ch Holly Short Of Sleek, and Ch Kahmins Emerald Swords (Ziggy).

It's been a while.

Well, Farmville should be banned. We can't get near the computer for having to harvest and plow. But finally We get a chance to post an update. Poor Major feels the cold so Sue put a jacket one him. It was so funny. He wasn't too sure about it at first but then he worked out it wasn't going to eat him.

It's been pretty cold so I've taken to sleeping under the blankets on the bed. Here I am crawling out slowly in the morning. Still half asleep.

Me and my big feet, sprawled out on the floor snoozing.

Waves are great!

So Sue decided to take me and Ziggy to the beach. Of course Ziggy is the perfect dog, allowed off leash cause he always comes when called. Not me, I have to stay on the lunge lead cause I just don't come.

At the beach and it's really wild. Surf rolling in, huge waves. Cool!

I get right onto the water and get rolled over by a big wave or two and joy of joys - my collar comes off! I'm free!

I start swimming straight into the huge waves, getting rolled over, coming back up to the surface, then under the waves again.

Sue's screaming something from the shore - I don't know what, can't hear her, I'm having too much fun. I'm right out in the surf now, heading to Oz, but the big waves are pushing me along the beach to the cliff face. A huge wave washes me up against the rocks and I get cast between two of them. I'm trying to get up as I can see a little path around the bottom of the cliff. Just as another wave washes me upright Sue grabs my tail and hauls me back to the sand.

My fun is over :(

Sue was wet to her knees and she wasn't happy, but boy, that was the best fun that I've had for ever! Can we go again?

Me and my bro

Me and Major had a big play outside and got really tired so we came in for a little rest. I took first watch to ensure no one else tried to come in. On Saturday Sue took us both into the river for a swim. Man it was cool! It was the first time the water has been over my head.

First I fell into a deep spot by mistake and had to swim for my life, then Major shunted me in while I was standing on a rock. After that I got the hang of it but I'm not as keen as Major who does belly flops into the water and scrambles up into the rapids. I think I'm more of a pool rat.

After a while I got a little cold and got out. Sue was occupied by Major so I went to look at something I had seen over the bridge. I was half way across when Sue noticed a dog on the bridge above her and looked for me. Then she realised it was me! I thought about running for it at first cause I know she wouldn't be able to catch me, but then reckoned I would never be trusted off the leash again so came back when she called.

I took my own sweet time though.

I was a little naughty.

At my old place I wasn't allowed on the furniture. But here we are allowed. I tried to stay quiet and as small as possible so I wouldn't get kicked off.
My obedience training is going really well. I can heel and sit and lay down. I come as long as I am on a lead.
Then I blew it all.
Sue took me for a walk in the park and all was going well. It was really hot and I was panting so she took me down to the river for a drink.
Running WATER!!!!!!!!!
Did I forget to tell you that I LOVE running water? Did I?
Some kids has dammed part of the stream and made a deep hole to swim in below some rapids.
Did you say RAPIDS? I LOVE rapids! No namby pamby smooth stuff for me. I headed straight in.
Except I forgot I was still attached to the lead. She who was attached to the lead let out a yelp, some rude words and I believe a small scream as she nearly ended up head first in the pool.
We are going back with the extender lead so I can get right in and tire myself out. BBear might come with me too.

Here tasty little rabbit

I tell you Aunty Aura that I saw that rabbit run in here.

It's under the pump cover. It went through that little hole in the side.

You stand there while I try to flush it out from this side.

It was good while it lasted

Vets. Bah humbug! They let all the secrets out. Never going there again. I had Sue good and convinced that I was pregnant. Every time she looked at me I pushed out my tummy and made grunting noises. I even made myself upchuck a couple of times like I had morning sickness.

Then she got suspicious. And took me to the vets. And the vets said…. BARREN!

And you know what that means. No more special treats, no more special cuddles, no more living like the princess I deserve to be. But I am NOT giving up my place on the bed. No way!

And to make matters even worse I have been banned from my swimming pool. The water tank ran dry and she who controls such things apparently needs the water in MY pool to flush the loo. She did say this morning that when the truck arrives and fills up the water tank I can have my pool back.

I’m not letting Uncle Chino in there though. He just splashes it all out.
