Ruff and tough

Since that Zeggy came I've only had a box for a bed. Shameful!

And my only food is puffed corn packaging. It was rather tasty!

I'm still your favourite?

Why you got the camera out? You're taking photos of me eh? Your favourite, me me me me. Look, you don't need to take photos of anyone else. They're bad dogs. Like Zeggy. Do you know what hes done?Look! He's dug a hole. I reckon he's trying to dig back to Australia. He's a bad Zeggy. Punish him!

Well, where do I start?

What a busy couple of days we've had. It started really early yesterday when I was thrown into the shower for a quick wash and polish. I damn near froze! Then we all packed ourselves in the ute for a long trip.

We went to Wellington and stayed with Maris and Ngarimu and a strange foreign puppy called Zeeggy. I think that's how it's spelt. That's what it sounds like when he says it.

That afternoon we all went to the beach and I played and played and played with Maris. We played with this stick. Then I had a burn around on my own to blow out the cobwebs:

Unlike spethial Holly I can be trusted to be off the lead to come back. We all had great fun.

Then today it was time for a dog show. And Guess what?

Champion! Finally I have got there.

Then it was time to come home. We had taken Ziggy to the shows with us because Louise was coming later. When we left Ziggy was still in the ute with use. Oh no Sue had forgotten he was there and driven off with him. I tried yelling and screaming. Sue Sue! STOP! She didn;t stop till we got home.

Well, it turns out that Ziggy isn't Louise's. He's ours. Chino's not a happy camper. And neither am I. I'm the baby!

Why oh why?

A new bedroom has appeared next to mine in the lounge. It's empty at present but has been all cleaned. So's mine and Holly's. They stink like cleaner. Our blankies have been washed and are hanging in front of the fire drying.

I guess Chino has been kicked off the bed for some infraction, certainly won't be for Aura.

What is going on around this place?

I'm fine, really!

I'm perfectly fine playing with my ball.

No thanks, really I don't need your help.

Well, maybe, it seems to be a little stuck behind my teeth.

This takes dieting too a whole new level

I was helping Sue out, rounding up the chooks and collecting the eggs. The three young ones were perched happily in the sun. I gave them a hurry up and sent them packing back to their run so that Aura, Chino and Holly could come out and play with me.
Sue reckons me hurrying up the chooks caused the teeny tiny little egg that one of them laid. I reckon it's a weight watchers special!

Dog shows again

But it wasn't too bad. I won two challenges, thanks to Hannah showing me. Only one to go to make me a champion. Of course I'm a champion already. Champion at manipulation.

It's pretty hard being a show dog. Real tiring. After a hard 2 minutes of being in the ring and being forced to trot I needed a good sleep. I snuck into the new tent and wrapped myself up in Hannah's blankets for a much deserved rest.

A new toy!

Yesterday afternoon Holly and me had to get all scrubbed up. I thought we were going to a dog show but no. We met some people in town. They were so nice. They gave us a mint flavoured tug toy to take home. Of course Holly and I shared with Aura and Chino. I reckon that mint flavouring might improve Chino's bad breathe.

We were tuckered out after chasing each other round and having a great game.
Thanks Jannine for the toy!

Me in show pose

I know, I know, too beautiful for words.

Going to shows is sooo hard.

The thing about going to dog shows is to ensure that you are comfortable at all times and that you have a warm place to sleep and a soft body to sleep on while waiting to go in the ring. There's no point be a hyperactive, snarly little mutt that leaps at anything that walks past.
It's far better to settle in and sleep till it's show time.

Sue won a dog food competition.

She had to write a caption for a photograph. Well, the parcel of goodies arrived last week so today I got the job of modeling some of the stuff in the box. Don't I look cute!

Thanks Jimbo's. You guys make awesome yummy dog food, especially green tripe, and those sausages aren't bad either. We don't get green tripe often cause someone is a little squeamish.

Our chariot came back! And off we went to a show!

Sue packed the ute the day before as we were leaving very early in the morning. Aura, Chino and Holly couldn't wait to go. They got in and waited. BTW, that's only a little bit of the stuff that comes with us.
Yeah! I won two challenge certificates. Only 5 to go to make me a champion. I had lots of fun and I slept in the tent too. And I didn't put any holes in the air bed. I was very careful.

And guess who I met? Nga! Nga is Maris' baby. He's cute, not cute like me, I'm a girl, but cute in a manly way. I got to play with him. He's a lot like his daddy Diesel. You remember Diesel? The love of my life. Well, he's no longer in my good books cause he obviously likes Maris better than me. NOT FAIR!
Soon Nga will be in the ring with me. I wonder who'll win?

Being a girl dog is horrible!

I haven't been allowed inside for a little while, except when I sneak in and quickly hide behind the pillows on the couch. I'm on heat and She-who-controls-access is a bit snippy about blood drips on the carpet.

Just hire a Rug Doctor! Then again - Don't. They make the carpet smell horrible. All flowery and sanitised. Yuk!

Sue says next time I might get to have some babies. If she can find a nice little biy for me. I wonder what Uncle Chino will have to say about that!

I'm sorry!

MURIEL!

GET OUT OF THE VEGGIES!

I'm really really sorry! I didn't mean to squash the radishes. I was just trying to eat the yummy peas. Now I've been made to come inside and sit in the corner. I'm sure a bit of rain will make the garden okay.

Here little spider

So after Sue put the hose back together she washed the ute and the front windows, till a gush of water hurried this tiny little spider out of its hiding spot.

Gosh the way she went on about it you;d think it was a tarantula and not a little iddy biddy wolf spider. So what if it was about 10 cm long. I've seen bigger.

Hmmm, I wonder what would happen if it came inside....or better still was in her gumboot one morning. Oh the possibilities!

I helped out lots!

Sue moved some dirt today and I helped by guiding the wheelbarrow. I was really good at it and the wheel barrow didn't fall off the path once! Sue kept talking to me the whole time, telling me how useful I was being.

That was until Aura came along and told me to open up my ear holes and start listening. Oh dear, I wish I'd stayed oblivious. Apparently I wasn't being helpful at all. I'll remember that for next time.

The big 1!

Yep, today I am no longer a puppy, I am an adult. 1 year old today!!!! I got a special tea but no candles as Sue said I'd probably eat them. I think she might be right.

Anyway, I'm off to enjoy a night under the blankets as my special birthday treat.

See ya! Hope the bed bugs don't bite, he he.

Bye Maris!

Maris, Holly's half sister came to stay with her human mum Louise. Maris came to see Diesel who was holidaying here too.

Me and Maris had lots of fun playing. We ran up and down, leapt over each other and generally played rough.

Then we found a stick!

Waiting's hard

Sue sent away our latest hereditary disease tests. They are the ones for PLL and they had to be sent all the way to America. Now all we can do is wait. Sue checks the website every day (a little compulsive if you ask me). I decided to take a much more relaxed approach and just have a little nap with Aunty Aura.
