Now Holly has got off the computer

I can tell my weekend story! OMG we had such fun all weekend, shows, doggy walks, going to the beach and being filmed by TV3! And meeting Ziggy's breeders. Only they pronounce his name Zeeggy.

Anyway, you might be asking yourself why I am standing on this table while a ribbon is held up. I won it! I got intermediate of group at the shows on the weekend!!!!!! Better than Holly and Ziggy did. (Ziggy was too busy trying to impress Nga). We had to take three photos before the stupid human stopped looking at the dog toy I was concentrating on and looked at the camera. I tell you some times its hard. Once the photos are posted on the supashotz website I'll link to them.

Before I had to go back for in show judging on the Sunday we all went to the beach for a walk. Holly's bro Mojo came along as well. Six minis all in one place at one time! That's nearly all that there is in NZ. From left to right: Ch Maris Phallitax of Sleek, MEEE!!!!, Wellywood Lord Of The Ring (Ngarimu), Titan Of Sleek (Mojo), Ch Holly Short Of Sleek, and Ch Kahmins Emerald Swords (Ziggy).

It's been a while.

Well, Farmville should be banned. We can't get near the computer for having to harvest and plow. But finally We get a chance to post an update. Poor Major feels the cold so Sue put a jacket one him. It was so funny. He wasn't too sure about it at first but then he worked out it wasn't going to eat him.

It's been pretty cold so I've taken to sleeping under the blankets on the bed. Here I am crawling out slowly in the morning. Still half asleep.

Waves are great!

So Sue decided to take me and Ziggy to the beach. Of course Ziggy is the perfect dog, allowed off leash cause he always comes when called. Not me, I have to stay on the lunge lead cause I just don't come.

At the beach and it's really wild. Surf rolling in, huge waves. Cool!

I get right onto the water and get rolled over by a big wave or two and joy of joys - my collar comes off! I'm free!

I start swimming straight into the huge waves, getting rolled over, coming back up to the surface, then under the waves again.

Sue's screaming something from the shore - I don't know what, can't hear her, I'm having too much fun. I'm right out in the surf now, heading to Oz, but the big waves are pushing me along the beach to the cliff face. A huge wave washes me up against the rocks and I get cast between two of them. I'm trying to get up as I can see a little path around the bottom of the cliff. Just as another wave washes me upright Sue grabs my tail and hauls me back to the sand.

My fun is over :(

Sue was wet to her knees and she wasn't happy, but boy, that was the best fun that I've had for ever! Can we go again?

Me and my bro

Me and Major had a big play outside and got really tired so we came in for a little rest. I took first watch to ensure no one else tried to come in. On Saturday Sue took us both into the river for a swim. Man it was cool! It was the first time the water has been over my head.

First I fell into a deep spot by mistake and had to swim for my life, then Major shunted me in while I was standing on a rock. After that I got the hang of it but I'm not as keen as Major who does belly flops into the water and scrambles up into the rapids. I think I'm more of a pool rat.

After a while I got a little cold and got out. Sue was occupied by Major so I went to look at something I had seen over the bridge. I was half way across when Sue noticed a dog on the bridge above her and looked for me. Then she realised it was me! I thought about running for it at first cause I know she wouldn't be able to catch me, but then reckoned I would never be trusted off the leash again so came back when she called.

I took my own sweet time though.

I was a little naughty.

At my old place I wasn't allowed on the furniture. But here we are allowed. I tried to stay quiet and as small as possible so I wouldn't get kicked off.
My obedience training is going really well. I can heel and sit and lay down. I come as long as I am on a lead.
Then I blew it all.
Sue took me for a walk in the park and all was going well. It was really hot and I was panting so she took me down to the river for a drink.
Running WATER!!!!!!!!!
Did I forget to tell you that I LOVE running water? Did I?
Some kids has dammed part of the stream and made a deep hole to swim in below some rapids.
Did you say RAPIDS? I LOVE rapids! No namby pamby smooth stuff for me. I headed straight in.
Except I forgot I was still attached to the lead. She who was attached to the lead let out a yelp, some rude words and I believe a small scream as she nearly ended up head first in the pool.
We are going back with the extender lead so I can get right in and tire myself out. BBear might come with me too.

Here tasty little rabbit

I tell you Aunty Aura that I saw that rabbit run in here.

It's under the pump cover. It went through that little hole in the side.

You stand there while I try to flush it out from this side.

It was good while it lasted

Vets. Bah humbug! They let all the secrets out. Never going there again. I had Sue good and convinced that I was pregnant. Every time she looked at me I pushed out my tummy and made grunting noises. I even made myself upchuck a couple of times like I had morning sickness.

Then she got suspicious. And took me to the vets. And the vets said…. BARREN!

And you know what that means. No more special treats, no more special cuddles, no more living like the princess I deserve to be. But I am NOT giving up my place on the bed. No way!

And to make matters even worse I have been banned from my swimming pool. The water tank ran dry and she who controls such things apparently needs the water in MY pool to flush the loo. She did say this morning that when the truck arrives and fills up the water tank I can have my pool back.

I’m not letting Uncle Chino in there though. He just splashes it all out.

It’s my birthday!

And Major’s too. We’re two years old today. Just spritely young things. I got a huge piece of dry bedding for my birthday. It’s really warm and snugly. I tried to take it out to my kennel but Sue said no. She put it in the baby bed. Why is it going in there? I haven’t had to sleep in their since I was a baby.

Anyway I wanted to get dressed up for my party I am sure that I am getting later on. I tried to put on my princess party dress – but it wouldn’t fit! I’ll have to go on a diet programme and get on the treadmill more. My puku sure has expanded.

Major has already got his birthday present. He got obedience lessons – snigger. But they have been very good for him. He heels, he sits, he lays down. He’s a much quicker learner than Ziggy. But he’s my bro – what do you expect?

Sue says if only his feet would heal up, he could find a new family to live with.

An update.

Banderbear:
My turn to go first! Well, finally we went camping again. But this time only Ziggy got to be shown, not me. I'm no longer the star, it's not fair. But at least I got to sleep in the tent. She-who-controls-such-things bought a new sleeping bag. An extra wide, extra warm one. It'll keep you wamr to minus 10 degrees without a doggy hot water bottle inserted.

It fits one skinny mini and a not so skinny (but apparently working on it) human. That's as long as the human doesn't get prissy and try to take too much room. It was so hot in the bag that I demanded that the zip be opened. You should have heard the whining. In the end I had to settle for sweating it out.

Anyway, if you want to know what sleeping bag your human should buy to keep you warm its called "The Beast" and it's by a company called "Roman" - which kind of suits Bull terriers as we have Roman shaped noses.

Major:
Well, camping is FUN! Except that there are RULES. Like No Barking, No pulling on the lead, No screaming for attention, and your human has to clean up after you.

And I hear that there are moves affoot for something called "Obedience Training". I hope it doesn't involve me.

Left to my own devices

Banderbear is a little tied up with Ziggy at the moment. So she's not posting anything. I'm sure she'll be back when she's finished her fun.

While she's otherwise engaged I get to play with my half-sister Holly. We have the same mum. Here we are having a little nap in the sun. Holly likes to roll around with her legs in the air. She's funny.

A double post

Major:

Bear has let me go first. Well, what an exciting weekend. I went to my first dog shows! Not to be shown but just for practice on how to walk on a lead nicely and how to be calm and collected. Well, I failed at both. I was a little overawed about it all. But Sue said I was getting there. I have to practice more is all. I hope I get to go again.

Apart from that I have been playing and eating. Bear says I'm getting a bit of a puku on me. She can be so mean sometimes. Oh and Sue bought me a special toy all of my own. I think she thought she was being nice but really, fluffy toys are NOT dog toys. They are kids toys and you are not allowed to chew on them.

Banderbear:
Well, I've about had enough! Ziggy and Major are getting far too much attention. Look at me locked inside while they get all the love. I was even second best at the dog shows. I'm not used to being second, especially not to smelly boys.
And I had to get up really early on the weekend to go to the shows. Boy even my Blog has been taken over. ARRGGHHHHH.

Flattened!

Boy, running around and supervising my brother is hard work. After I had showed him all the places not to go, and all the toys that are mine I had to have a little rest in a cool spot. Doing the frog on the wet croncrete is the fastest way to cool down. It kinda looks like a got squished.

Remember me?

Hi, I'm Major, Banderbears baby bro. I've come back for a little while, just till I get well and find myself a new family to live with. While I'm here Bear says I can use her blog to put up some posts. You might remember me as that tiny little puppy that never grew. Well, I grew, and grew, and grew. I think I got my dads genes for size.

Anyway, here I am looking really cute, with my pink mangy nose and wedge of a head.

I think I might like my holiday here. Today for breakfast I got fresh chicken necks and tonight for tea I got more chicken necks, wheat germ, kelp powder, ACV, a fresh free range egg from our own hens and this really stinky stuff called green tripe. Yum! I ate that first it was so delicious.

Got to go, Bear says its time for us to go outside to the loo before curling up in front of the fire for the night.

Bye!

That pesky rabbit keeps getting us in trouble!

It's decided to live in the section. It bounces in and out through the fences and along the fronts of our runs. It used to live int he paddocks with its mum and dad but they've got younger bunnies with them now so they must have kicked this one out of the nest. Sue says one day our luck will be in and it'll be too fat to fit through the fence and we'll have rabbit for dinner.
That's if the pesky neighbours cat doesn't get it first. It's seen it in no mans land between our two properties and it's got dibs on it. I don't know. I reckon it could be a case of the cat got the rabbit and the dog got the cat!

Why is this stuff on my chair!

Jolly gosh some days I just despair. I was trying to have a nap on my favourite chair but found it occupied by the freezer bins. Why aren't they in the freezer? Anyway I made sure she-who-controls-things-on-chairs was aware of how difficult it was to get comfortable.
And after my little snooze I found our favourite toy, which someone had left on the lawn in the rain. Play with me! If you don't I'll hide the soggy thing in your bed.

Play with me!

Play with me! Look I found our cool tug toy out in the garden. Chino had hidden it! It's all nice and soggy wet and I want you to play with me.

Go on, you big wuss, you can wash your hands after.
